Past, Present & Future

Cholmeley Choral Society is an non-auditioned choir based in Highgate, North London. We are a fun group of singers who rehearse on Wednesday evenings (2000 - 2130hrs) at All Saints Church, Talbot Road, Highgate, London N6 4QH.

The choir put on three concerts a year of a variety of choral pieces, mainly classical, which often include solo passages, instrumental interludes, and sometimes even the odd bit of poetry or entertaining prose. More recently the choir has given very vibrant concert performances of Gilbert and Sullivan Operettas in the summer term.

Cholmeley Choral Society was founded in 1988 by Harvey Rathbone, primarily as a choir for parents of pupils at Highgate School. The choir performed regularly with the school choirs from 1988-2005, under the baton of Harvey Rathbone, Howard Chapman, John March, Tec Fawcett, and even the late Sir David Willcocks.

The choir is now directed by William Glendinning, a young choral conductor and singer who himself is an Old Cholmeleian (former pupil of Highgate School).
